I love Christmas, I really do and I am not going to wave my finger at you with a tonne of scary facts about waste over Christmas, as consumers we get a lot of responsibility lugged onto our shoulders already. So instead, I am simply going to share some chic ideas for decorating the home this Christmas.
1. CITRUS DECORATIONS
Need some new decorations for the tree? This is such a cute idea to do with the kids! A fresh citrus colour looks beautiful against pine.
Find out about it here https://www.acleanbee.com/diy-christmas-ornaments/
2. TREE BOUQUET
As mentioned in the blog above (funnily enough!) I will be doing the same this year as me and my family will be away, so a vase of decorated pine cuttings from a local florist will adorn our mantle instead of a tree - I couldn't bear cutting one down for it to sit all alone Christmas day!
3. CHRISTMAS SCENTED CANDLE
If you don't have a tree but you love the smell, you can always opt for a Christmas scented soy candle to arouse that holiday spirit, there are millions of choices out there, this trendy one for the scandi fan is from Etsy https://www.etsy.com/listing/259079461/cedar-pine-scented-candle-hopscotch
4. RE-USE JARS
A few jars at different sizes with some pine, Christmas bulbs and a candle is such a cute display and costs nothing!
5. AIR PLANTS FOR THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE
This is such a great idea if you are like me and live in the Southern Hemisphere, Christmas is a summery affair for us so air plants are a wonderful decorative option. If you are feeling crafty you can drill into a log or branch piece like this to create your table centre piece. No plastic necessary.
Using natural elements in our home is better for the environment and for us, they will provide a grounding energy and offer something different for you and your loved ones to enjoy.
Happy Christmas everyone - see you in 2020! xx
