Happy Holidays!
We are finally here! Most people I have spoken to have said that 2024 has been quite a challenge but with some positive ups mixed in there too. It seems the Christmas spirit this year is a little more flat than other years, but I think this year has gone so fast its just surprising that it is this time too.
So lets change that and get talking Christmas decor.
I think after the last few years we are all desiring some abundance, abundance meaning an overflow of many things, money yes and also health, relationships, love, things that we love.
The Christmas aesthetic that can help call in abundance is 90's nostalgia.
As in no colour coordination, lots of decorations, ribbons on presents, lots.
So why would this call in more abundance?
Because of the energy behind putting it together.
You are not looking to colour coordinate your wrapping paper, anything goes.
You are getting extra decorations and choosing them because they are fun or cute not because you are chasing a certain look.
A 90's Christmas is the opposite of the minimalist style that has been intensifying over the last 15 years. It's like taking that minimalist mentality and throwing up joy all over it.
The 90's aesthetic isn't 'trying hard' its loose and free and is about letting go and celebrating.
Depending on your age it tugs on childhood memories and childlike self.
If the consumerist side feels a little heavy and this year it is for many, get the kids or grandkids making decorations for the tree, go thrifting, use dry flowers.
Forget about being cool.
My daughter said to me recently, I've never had a gift that had a ribbon on it, but presents in movies always have ribbons on them.
For those of us that have children at this time, they have grown up in the minimalist era, lets show them something different, lets show them what abundance looks like as an expression.
The key words here though are letting go, freedom, abundance. To call in these energies we must embody them and live it. Be the change, to invite more of what you want into your life and have fun doing it!
Have a fabulous day, designing your life.
